Become a Foster Friend to the Hancock County Animal Shelter Foundation

The Hancock County Animal Shelter (HCAS) turns no animal in need away. This results in an overabundance of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies, especially in the warmer months. Thousands of homeless animals enter our shelter each year. Many are not quite ready for adoption and require the love and care of a foster family to prepare them for their forever home. Please join the unique and dedicated group of HCASF foster volunteers! You will experience the joys of being a pet “parent” without the lifetime of responsibility.
HCASF provides:

• All necessary medication and medical care
• Education on how to care for your foster animal

The foster family provides:

• A safe and nurturing environment for the foster animal
• Food and required supplies (i.e., kitty litter and toys)
• Socialization for shy animals
• A chance for sick animals to recover

To learn more about becoming a foster parent to orphaned, injured, or abandoned animals, please contact the HCASF Foster Care Coordinator.

Foster programs save thousands of lives every year! Please share our invitation and our message with your friends and family members. Thank you for your
support of and interest in the HCASF Foster Program!
